West Coast Eagles

It was a very sweet victory for the Eagles over the Swans in AFL Grand Final 2006. Once again, the victory margin was razor thin, 1 behind to be exact. The Eagles kicked 5 behinds in the second quarter. I was worried it may haunt my favourite AFL team later. The Eagles started out strong by dominating the first half. The games swinged to the Swans’ favour in the second half where they played a good game of catching up.

However, the Eagles were not to be denied. They avenged their last year’s Grand Final defeat by holding on to their slim 1 point lead. I am particularly happy since their previous premiership was won back in 1994, the same year I left Perth. It has been a good 12 years since then. Hopefully I can obtain the AFL 2006 Premiership t-shirt soon. Good on you, Eagles!

Watched the Eagles play live earlier this year. One of the Eagles fans in the stadium that day shouted out “You’re too slick for them Juddy!” So true. Chris Judd (Captain) is one my favourite players in the AFL. Great to see him add another medal to his already impressive collection.
